KILL THE CANCER
An ISKCON Kukatpally Initiative for Cancer Awareness & Prevention
Awareness. Prevention. Healthy Living. Hope.
Cancer affects millions of people and families around the world. While not every cancer can be prevented, many important risk factors can be reduced through healthier choices, avoidance of tobacco and other harmful exposures, and timely medical attention.
Kill The Cancer is an initiative of ISKCON Kukatpally dedicated to creating greater awareness about cancer prevention and encouraging individuals—especially young people—to make informed and healthy choices.
Why Kill The Cancer?
Cancer is not just a medical challenge—it is a challenge that affects families, communities and society as a whole.
A lack of awareness can lead to unhealthy habits, delayed recognition of warning signs and missed opportunities for prevention and early detection.
Through Kill The Cancer, ISKCON Kukatpally seeks to bring together students, educational institutions, families, volunteers and community members to create a culture of awareness and prevention.
The initiative encourages people to:
-
Understand major cancer risk factors
-
Stay away from tobacco and other harmful substances
-
Adopt healthier lifestyle habits
-
Pay attention to persistent or unusual symptoms
-
Seek qualified medical advice when concerns arise
-
Share reliable health information with family and friends
Our Vision
A healthier and more aware society
We envision a society where people have access to reliable information about cancer, understand preventable risk factors, make healthier choices and do not hesitate to seek professional medical advice when needed.
Prevention begins with awareness. Awareness begins with each one of us.
Our Mission
Kill The Cancer aims to:
1. Create Awareness
Help young people and the wider community understand cancer, its risk factors and the importance of prevention.
2. Promote Healthy Choices
Encourage habits that contribute to overall well-being, including avoiding tobacco and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
3. Encourage Early Action
Promote awareness of warning signs and the importance of discussing persistent concerns with qualified healthcare professionals.
4. Engage Students
Use colleges and educational institutions as platforms for meaningful conversations and youth-led awareness activities.
5. Build Community Participation
Bring together volunteers, educational institutions and community members to spread awareness beyond the temple and into society.
Our Major Activities

One of the flagship activities of Kill The Cancer is the Inter-College Elocution Competition, designed to encourage students to learn about cancer and communicate important messages of prevention and awareness.
